CO2 adsorption on Miscanthus × giganteus (MG) chars prepared in different atmospheres

Low-cost solid sorbents with enhanced capacity and selectivity towards CO2 are crucial in the design of an efficient carbon capture process. The suitability chars prepared by slow pyrolysis Miscanthus × giganteus (MG) different atmospheres as adsorbents was explored. adsorption performance MG evaluated using a thermogravimetric analyser. results showed that uptakes at 30 °C were between 1.528 to 1.811 mmol g?1 for N2, 0.208 1.746 CO2, 1.483 1.774 He, respectively. These values line those from literature on biomass-derived carbon-based materials. cyclic adsorption/desorption regeneration experiments 180 best temperature desorption chars. char 800 nitrogen exhibited performance, i.e. losing 13.86 % its after seven cycles. suggested biomass waste used this work could be successfully valorised excellent performance.
